SOLD OUT! Poetica Musica: Carnival of the Animals

Experience the wonderful tones of two pianists partnering on a Steinway piano as Poetica Musica and Old Westbury Gardens present a concert entitled "Carnival of the Animals" on Saturday, April 22 at 8:00pm.

The piano duo will perform works that will include, Sonata for piano, four hands in D major, K.381 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the Fantasia for piano four hands in F minor, D.940 by Franz Schubert, Carnival of the Animals, zoological fantasy for two pianos by Camille Saint-Saëns, and more.


ABOUT THE ARTISTS:

NATAŠA MITROVIĆ and NENAD KAČAR

NENAD KAČAR graduated from the Zagreb Academy of Music, He has performed in many countries including Slovenia, Italy, Germany, the Czech Republic, Sweden and in all major cities in his native Croatia. Since 2017, he has collaborated with pianist Natasa Mitrovic performing piano four hand concerts throughout Europe. He recently released a CD of the Mozart Piano Concerto, K.V. 466 performing with the Croatian Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Diana Tchobanov. He is the chief of the piano department at the Academy of Music Zlatko Balovic in Zagreb, Croatia.

 

NATAŠA MITROVIĆ, pianist, received her undergraduate and graduate degrees at the Music Academy in Belgrade where she now teaches piano. In 2005, Ms Mitrovic received a Fulbright Grant to attend the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She has won many prizes for piano performance including a prize from the Music Academy in Belgrade for her contribution as pedagogue and performer, First prize at the International Competition in San Bartolomeo al Mare in Italy and Second prize at the International Competition for pianists in Rome. Ms Mitrovic has performed as a piano soloist with most of the major orchestras in Serbia and Montenegro and with the Bulgarian Philharmonic, and the orchestras in Frankfurt, Germany. She has given recitals and performed as a chamber musician in France, Italy, the Czech Republic, Macedonia, Bulgaria and the United States.
